Brashear Academic Bowl Teams Win Conference Tournament

The Tigers placed 4 players on the All-Conference Teams.

The Brashear Tiger Academic Bowl teams both took 1st in the Tri-County Conference Tournament held at Novinger March 15, 2008. The Junior High squad claimed 1st in the double elimination tournament with a 410-245 win over Bucklin, a 485-155 win over Novinger, a 530-125 win over Macon County, and another 505-105 win over Macon County who had battled back through the loser’s bracket. The High School team took 1st with a 210-45 win over Linn County, a 350-175 win over LaPlata, a 340-170 win over Bucklin, and a 270-125 win over Bevier. Four Brashear players were named to the all-conference teams. Josiah Belzer, Christina Scudder, and Caroline Slavin were named to the high school team, and Jay Scudder was named to the junior high team. In addition, Josiah Belzer and Jay Scudder were both named All-Conference MVPs.

The Tiger squads also wrapped up regular season play with both the high school and junior high teams going a perfect 8-0 to claim the Tri-County Conference Championships. The high school squad will next play April 12th when Brashear hosts the District Academic Bowl Tournament.
